In the depths of my soul there is peace
a renewing of my spirit in your presence
my heart sings with joy at the wonder of Your name
O Lord, You are my God, my everything
i'm waiting for the day
when i don't have to hear You say
'i love you more than you could know'
because i'll understand it in my soul
and hear it in the whistling brook
the pain and sorrow on the path you took
i'll feel it in the gentle breeze
desperation bringing you to your knees
and taste it in the morning sun
praying 'Father, may Your will be done'
i'll see it in the open sea
You hanging on that cross for me
and so i'll sing of Your mercy and grace
and yearn for the day i finally meet You face to face
